Makeup Madness: Up Close - Maybelline Bad to the Bronze and Cover Girl Shimmering Sands

I thought I'd start off with my makeup haul from Amazon. My friend Cielo was ordering stuff from the US, and she hooked me up. (Thanks Cie!) I wanted neutral makeup for everyday, so I ordered two really popular eye shadow products - Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze and CoverGirl Eye Enhancers in Shimmering Sands.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze is a gorgeous, metallic brown that appears daunting at first, but actually looks less intense when applied. It's a pretty, shimmery shade that you can use as a base, or as a standalone shadow. The color payoff is amazing, plus it's super smooth and just glides on effortlessly. The best part about it is that it really stays on all day! You practically don't need an eye primer for it, because it simply stays on your lids until you decide to take it off.

CoverGirl Eye Enhancers in Shimmering Sands is a classic, neutral eye shadow palette. The shades go from dark to light, which makes application so easy. The darkest goes on your crease, the middle one is the all-over color for the eyelids, and the lightest is the highlighter for the brow bone and near the tear ducts. Of course you can play around with it and switch it up too. Experimenting is a cinch, because the colors complement each other perfectly. I found it really smooth as well, and it has almost no fallout either. The brush is really flimsy however, as brushes that come with compact palettes usually are. What I like most about it is that it has a subtle shimmer to it, so it's not just your usual matte neutral palette.

I used these products for the first time last Sunday! It was a pretty chill day with the fiance at Podium, so I just swiped on Bad to the Bronze and then put Shimmering Sands on top of it and finished it off with just eyeliner. For the rest of the look I used Wet n Wild Color Icon Brow and Eye Liner in Mink Brown, MAC Studio Fix Foundation in NC35, NYX Stick Blush in Tulip, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo.

  3. Why is this the first time I've visited this site of yours? Hahaha I'm so behind on blogging. I'm still game for makeup day even if I don't live in the Yellow Pad anymore.

Love love love the look! You pull off strong eye + strong lips really well!

Hehe I guess strong eyes to me mean smokey and dark, so neutral goes on pretty well with strong lips.
