Pregnancy Update: 26-27 Weeks

Hi! Here's my weekly pregnancy update. I would like to remember this special time, so I'm documenting it! I turn a new week every Wednesday (my apps moved up for some reason), so I'm trying to do these posts during the middle of the week. Here's the first ever pregnancy update, and you can find all the pregnancy updates in this tag.

26 and 27 weeks!

Note: I'm doing a dual post this time because my computer was hit with a nasty virus the week before last (actually it still has it). Plus, these past two weeks have been pretty uneventful for the first time ever (thank goodness) so I didn't have much to update on. Also, I've now entered my last trimester, yay!

Current Facts

Baby Size
26th - Coconut, eggplant, kale (14.0 inches, 1.68 pounds)

27th - Acorn squash, cucumber, lettuce (14.4 inches, 1.93 pounds)
From the Glow Nurture, What to Expect, and The Bump apps

How I'm Feeling
I'm feeling great! Aside from the usual fatigue whenever I attempt to do something active (like leave the house), I feel like I have more energy in general. I have other symptoms by the way -- frequent pee-ing, forgetfulness, and some occasional soft snoring (according to the hubby) -- that I never talk about because they're pretty much constants. I've also been feeling some restlessness in my hands and arms whenever I wake up in the morning, but it doesn't bother me. I just flex my fingers and move my hands and arms, and it goes away when I get up. I used to feel some thigh and leg restlessness/pain in the morning, but that has gone away.

Cravings/Aversions
I've still been wanting chocolate, especially hot chocolate and champorado because it's rainy here. I can't have any unless it's my cheat day though, so I just suffer the rest of the week.

We did a lot of cooking last week too. I was craving bacon so hubby and I made fake bacon. It's not as good as real bacon, but it'll do! We also made uncured tapa because apparently commercial tapa has salitre, which is another pregnancy no-no. I still love cheese as well, so we made cauliflower mac and cheese that was as GDM-friendly as we could make it to be. We used almond milk instead of regular milk and yogurt instead of sour cream.

Baby Activity
Baby is moving around so much now! I can feel waves, punches, and kicks all over my belly, all day, everyday. He has also settled into some sort of schedule. I can feel him move in the morning, but soft and slow like he's still sleepy. I feel him move throughout the day, but just tiny movements here and there. At night though, around 11pm, he gets into play mode and it feels like a party in my belly! He loves to play with his daddy too. Aleq asks for a fist bump every now and then, and it's such a thrill when baby responds!

Checkup/Test Update
We had our first third trimester checkup with the OB last Friday. It was the first time she measured my tummy and she said baby was looking somewhat big. We're glad about that because it means he's getting chubby in there but hopefully he won't get too big so I won't have a difficult time delivering him. Aside from that, our checkup went by like usual. Baby's heartbeat was really loud and strong that day. Doc said it was because his back was turned -- he still hates being bothered, haha.

I've also graduated from monthly OB checkups to biweekly ones. My doc wants to see me every two weeks now, maybe because I'm in my third trimester already.

Pregnancy Favorites
I've still been loving the duster! (Is it daster? I have no idea.) The hubby's grandma and my sis-in-law both gave me one so I have three now. They're the comfiest to wear when you're pregnant!

My awesome sis-in-law also got me some maternity clothes. I've decided not to buy anymore because I only have around two months left in my pregnancy and I rarely ever leave the house, but she dropped off some this past weekend for me anyway. She bought me this loose, striped top (I forgot to ask from where), plus a lovely short dress in my favorite colors from this cute brand called Belly Bump. (Thank you Ate Weng!)

She also brought me this book called "The Complete Pregnancy and Baby Book" that she got as a present from our cousin years ago, when she was pregnant with my nephew. She passed it down to me since it's my turn now. It's a hefty, comprehensive book that I'm sure I'll keep referring too especially when the baby's here.

Coming Up
I'm having another one of my biweekly checkups with my endocrinologist next week. I might have to see my nutritionist too, since I was told I would have a different diet when I reach my third trimester. We shall see.

That's it! The past two weeks sure went by fast. Thanks for reading!
