Gizmo Fixation: Thor Mjolnir Hammer USB Key from Jollibee

A burger and a hammer!

The hubby brings me pasalubongs (homecoming gifts) all the time, but tonight's pasalubong was better than usual. He got me Thor's hammer, and it even came with a burger!

Hello, Thor

Jollibee is offering Thor's hammer for just 95 pesos alongside an order of their new Cheesy Bacon Mushroom Champ burger. You don't have to order a kiddie meal or any value meal. As long as you get the burger, you can get the hammer.

Mjolnir!

The Thor hammer is actually a 1GB USB key, and it's a pretty cool one. It's huge, and it's pretty hefty, made of solid, heavy rubber. It will work as our TV USB key when we want to watch a movie saved in our computers.

Asgardian tech?

I'm not sure how long the hammers will be available, but it's being done to promote Thor: The Dark World, so it might be over when the movie hits cinemas on October 30. The hubby also said that it's pretty popular and a lot of people were also going for the burger-hammer deal when he was at Jollibee earlier, so if you want one, it's best to get it as soon as you can.

Note: I'm not sure what's up but the USB key is running pretty slow on my computer. It's taking forever to copy one movie file over. I'll post again later to see if it worked. If not, well then it's a good thing that the hubby and I love toys.

Update: It worked! It's just super slow in copying though and it might generate a couple of errors at first. Format it before using to be sure. (Reminder: It's only a 95-peso USB key.) It also works on our TV so we're happy. Whew.

Another update: The movie started playing but only for a minute and then there was a file error. I tried copying over one of the pics above and the file still came out wrong. I'll give it another chance on the hubby's computer tomorrow. It still looks hella cool though. It's a good thing it was only 95 pesos, at least we still have a cool toy, heh.

  1. Hmmm... I tried the drive and the computer could definitely detect it.
I suppose googling for a usb drive integrity tester would be a good idea before putting in non-duplicate files on the usb.

    1. Same here, the computer detects it and when my first copy didn't work I was able to format it and rename it. What I haven't been able to do is to actually use it for storing files. Have you tried copying files over and opening/running them? I'm planning on trying it again later using my husband's notebook.

    2. p.s. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see if I can do an integrity test later.
