Makeup Madness: Up Close - Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake

As promised, I'm trying to get through all the reviews of the products from my most recent beauty hauls! These are way overdue so please bear with me.

I'm starting off with the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake, because the lip butters have been out for a while. (Check out my previous posts on the shades Tutti Frutti and Wild Watermelon.) I got Strawberry Shortcake when I went drugstore beauty shopping and found the Revlon Lip Butters on sale. It was around the time when I realized that I needed some girly pink in my life because my lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes were all neutral or strong colors.

With the Revlon Lip Butters, the tube color tells you the color of the lipstick inside. Strawberry Shortcake's tube color and lip color weren't exactly the same however. The tube seemed like a warm shade of pink, but the actual shade of the lipstick turned out to be a lot cooler.

It's a bluish pink, which kind of reminds me of NYX Pink Lyric, though that one's a loud matte. Strawberry Shortcake's formula is just like other Lip Butters -- it's creamy and moisturizing, so it glides on the lips and appears sheer. The downside is that it also disappears pretty quickly, but you can just reapply throughout the day. You won't think twice about doing that, since this lipstick has a great price point and you won't feel bad about using it up quickly.

The color looks light, but it looks more pink when it's on the lips. It's a girly color but it stops short of being saccharine. I usually wear loud red and orange shades, so I go for this one when I want a break from attention-grabbing colors. It's my go-to lipstick on days when I want to look nice and sweet.
