Home Base: New Crystals

Earlier this year, the hubby and I plus our friends discovered crystals. They're not only pretty -- they're also incredibly helpful. Long story short, we've found them to be amazing at bringing good vibes into our lives.

We've all been going back to Binondo ever since (hello Sheva, Cielo, and Verns), because there are a lot of crystals on our list and we have yet to find all of them. We got a few new ones recently so here's an update.

I've been wanting a smokey quartz, which I mean to use in the office to fend off stress, but that crystal is so elusive, I have yet to find one. The good thing about this is that other crystals and stones call to me when I go hunting for it, so it kind of works out anyway. On our last Binondo trip, I found two new ones at our favorite crystal store, Dragon Phoenix.

• Black Tourmaline - I was thrilled to find this piece because I wanted a grounding stone, and this is a powerful one. Meditation with other crystals is best finished with a grounding stone just to pull your consciousness back to earth. Also known as Schorl, this is considered a protection stone; one that absorbs negative energy and turns it into positive energy. It acts as a "worry stone" that helps ease stress and relieves fear and anxiety. It helps one focus/concentrate too. Oh, and this convinced me that crystals and stones emit energy. I feel so weird whenever I meditate with this -- the strength of its energy is a little unsettling and takes some getting used to. 

   

• Ametrine - We were about to leave the shop when this called to me. Ametrine is a combination of Amethyst and Citrine, so it carries the energies of both. It helps release stress, anxiety, and tension, and also enables a break from self-defeating habits. It brings inner peace and tranquility. As for its health benefits, it actually aids in weight loss, which is a good thing for me!

  

My friends and I finally got pouches too, so we've started bringing our crystals everywhere with us. This means I have to find crystals to leave at home.

His Crystals

A wasn't feeling well when the last Binondo trip happened, so he wasn't able to come. He just gave me a list of crystals to look for, and I actually found almost everything he wanted.

He has been a bit sickly so he wanted a stone for health, and he also wanted a protection stone for the car. I got them all, plus one extra crystal for him.

Good vibrations

• Aventurine - Green Aventurine is considered a lucky stone. It increases one's chances in any situation, manifests prosperity and wealth, and brings luck in games of chance or competitions. It encourages growth and brings opportunities, and is a really positive stone. It even balances emotions and helps ease anger, irritation, and everyday stress. It's a calming stone, as well as a worry stone, which is great for A because he can be quite the grump and is such a worrywart, heh. In general, it helps a person take everything in stride. Most of all, it helps in general health. So far, A has been feeling pretty lucky and healthy after getting this.
• Tiger's Eye - This is both a grounding stone and a protection stone. A already has one that he keeps at home, but he also wanted one for the car, since it ensures safe travel. It maintains wealth, brings clarity and good judgement, and helps one make good decisions.
• Clear Quartz - I have one, but I wanted to get A one because clear quartz helps in healing all conditions. It also eliminates negative energy and energizes, plus it amplifies intentions.

A has a small tray in the house where he keeps his crystals. Only the Green Aventurine and the Tiger's Eye travel with him. The Tiger's Eye stays in our car, but he keeps the Green Aventurine in his left pocket because it's said to be lucky there.
