How I'm Feeling
I didn't have a lot of symptoms this week, which is such a relief. I still have all the usual ones, but they don't happen all the time. My tummy doesn't harden as much after eating anymore -- hubby and I noticed that more often than not, it happens when I eat something fried or oily, so I've been staying away from those kinds of foods. I have some very occasional round ligament pain, which just feels like hard tugs or pokes in my tummy (as opposed to happy bubbly baby movement), but it only causes momentary discomfort and it happens so rarely it doesn't really bother me at all. I still get hot, but it has been cloudy or raining here a lot so that's been a relief. My hips, thighs and legs get a bit painful and uncomfortable at night now, but it doesn't happen every night so I can still take it so far. It has also gotten hard to move around, like getting up from the bed and finding a good sleeping position. Oh, and the itchy skin is still here too, but with belly butter and lotion, I don't get as itchy as before.
I still experience fatigue, but now I only need half a day to recover after a day of activity. Mostly, I've been keeping myself busy. I'm stuck at home so I'm making the most out of it by being as creative and productive as I can, doing fun projects and fixing up around the house. I still can't do much, but I'm doing way better than before.
By the way, I saw this hilarious Buzzfeed video called "Things No One Tells You About Pregnancy" this morning, and I can totally relate to all of it!
Cravings/Aversions
I forgot to mention in my previous updates that aside from cheese, fruit has been a constant throughout the pregnancy. I talked about avocado in my last post, but I've been wanting other kinds. Since I feel hot all the time, I've been loving what I would call cool fruit -- kiwi, watermelon, melon, banana, mango, and pomelo, which I find so yummy and refreshing after being chilled in the fridge.
From my Twitter: "I guess I should be more careful when I tell @a_wol I need fruit. I thought he'd buy me a couple, he got a ton."
I've been wanting beef kebabs or shawarma a lot. We ordered from Uncle Moe's via Zomato a couple of times over the weekend. I can eat kebabs all day everyday this week.
I've also been craving chicken sandwiches throughout the pregnancy. I don't like the fastfood fried fillet kind. I just like the shredded chicken, kind of homemade type. My number one choice has been Dunkin Donuts' chicken croissant. I don't have a picture of it because I always scarf it down so fast whenever I get it.
An unfulfilled craving is chili con carne. I've been thinking of it all the time! Wendy's doesn't have it anymore and Mexicali doesn't deliver. Either I will have to get to a resto that has it myself, or the hubby will have to go out of his way to drop by Mexicali and get it for me one of these days, heh.
As for aversions, I haven't been liking fish all that much this entire pregnancy. I get tempted by fried/oily food now, but I tend to feel bad after eating so I guess that also counts as an aversion.
Baby Activity
Sometimes when I feel baby moving, I rub my belly and tell him "I love you" over and over and I feel movement wherever my hand goes. It's like a game between us -- so precious. Baby also seems to love story time with the hubby. I feel movement wherever hubby touches my belly while reading stories out loud. It has become our little evening bonding time.
Checkup/Test Update
This week was kind of a low for us in terms of where I am health-wise. I had my 75g Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) last Saturday and it was a bit grueling. I had to fast for 8 hours, and then had to sit through another 3 hours for the test. My preggo hunger almost couldn't take it. I started feeling really faint by the last hour. We woke up super early to get to the hospital at 6:30am. I had my first blood extraction, and then I had to drink this orange-flavored glucose drink that I didn't have any problems with because I was hungry and thirsty. To me, it just tasted like orange Gatorade with an overwhelming amount of sugar in it. After an hour, I had my second blood extraction, and then after another hour, I had my third and last blood extraction. Aleq and I were so hungry we ate a ton after. We had to wait yet another 3 hours for the results so we just ate our way through the waiting.
From my Twitter: "Waited and ate for the results for another 3hrs. Now going home. Won't find out the meaning until nxt wk's checkup."
After all that, it was disheartening to see the results. I feel like I failed it because I'm around 20 points above the normal range, judging from the numbers. I'm feeling frustrated because I wasn't able to eat much throughout most of the first half of my pregnancy due to hyperemesis, and now that I have my appetite and feeling better, I might have possible gestational diabetes. I haven't seen my OB though so I'm crossing my fingers that there's still hope.

*Coobie Seamless Nursing Bra - My unmentionables don't fit anymore. For the longest time, I tried to hold off on getting new ones, but it's time. I haven't been able to breathe in my bras for a while, and I was taking unhooking breaks in restrooms when I'm out just to let my chest breathe. I finally caved and ordered my first maternity bra from Coobie Philippines. I got it in Nude so it'll go with everything I wear. I chose Coobie because this bra looked like the comfiest thing ever (and it is). It's seamless and soft, made of a nylon and spandex blend. The main thing that drew me to it is that it's stretchy, so it will grow with me throughout my pregnancy and beyond. The regular size fits 32A-36D. I can use it as a maternity bra while I'm pregnant, and then it becomes a nursing bra after I give birth with its easy snap clasps. I got one just to check it out, but now that I've seen how great it is, I'm ordering at least another one for sure.

Coming Up
Our 6th month checkup with the OB will be this weekend. I'm stressed about it because of the OGTT results, but it'll be nice to get checked out all the same.
That's about it for this week! Thanks for reading.
