How I'm Feeling
Same as last week -- still tired. The fatigue is really hitting me this week. I stayed up late a couple of nights and paid for it the next two days. I was pretty much useless -- I just had to sleep. I do have more energy though but I still have to recover whenever I spend it.
As for symptoms, still the same, with the addition of way more intense preggo fog (pregnancy brain). I can't seem to remember anything these days. The husband has to remind of things all the time now.
Cravings/Aversions
First, the good news. I finally got to satisfy my chili con carne craving, thanks to my wonderful hubby! It was definitely a one time thing though. I ate a bowl and I think I'm good until I give birth. It wasn't one of those constant cravings (like the Persian kebabs).
I've also been a bit naughty, sneaking chocolate here and there. We got the good kind of dark chocolate (70% cacao) at Santi's. I've been snacking on it a few squares at a time. It's hard to limit myself when I want to scarf down the entire bar, but I have to, of course.
From my Twitter: "Bed weather-ish afternoon. Looking for meal ideas in Yummy and having cheat day chocolate."
As for aversions, they're back with a vengeance. The hubby and I decided to have a huge breakfast at Pancake House last Saturday because it was my official nutritionist-sanctioned GDM diet cheat day. I ordered a Spanish omelette, but didn't realize it had bell peppers in it. Now I hate bell peppers under normal circumstances (pre-preggo, since the beginning of time) but I hate them even more now. I started feeling bad halfway through the omelette. I actually enjoyed it despite the bell peppers, but because of the bad feeling, I didn't finish it. I was afraid I would have to throw up! I instantly felt better when I had French toast after, so that was definitely an aversion.
Then on Monday, we were at the hospital for my checkup. I wanted lutong bahay, so the hubby and I bought my lunch and dinner at the foodcourt. I was so excited because we got adobong pusit and tortang talong. Unfortunately, I felt bad after both meals. There was something oilier about foodcourt lutong bahay that didn't sit right with me (or the baby, who knows), so that kind of sucked! Oh well.
Baby Activity
I woke up one night at 5am because my bladder was about to burst (#preggoprobs). I didn't realize baby's so active at that time! It was like he was playing the piano all over my belly.
My aaw moment for the week came one afternoon. The little one said hi! He was really active and started following my hand movements. I told him I loved him over and over. Maybe it's the hormones, but I got really teary-eyed at that moment.
Checkup/Test Update
I had my FBS, hba1c, and CBC (for my gestational diabetes) and my FT4 and TSH (for my thyroid) lab tests at the Mega Clinic last Saturday. On Monday, we went back to my endocrinologist at the Medical City for my two-week follow-up checkup. My tests all turned out normal! Even my hba1c, which shows my sugar for the last 3 months, was normal. My endo also checked my food journal and my blood sugar log, and she said I should just keep doing what I'm doing. I don't have to take medicine or get insulin. She said my medicine is my diet, which is great news.
Pregnancy Favorites
Peanut butter! I eat it all day everyday! Who knew that peanut butter is a diabetic's best friend? It's low glycemic and it gives me my sweet fix. I eat it three times a day (I have to snack three times a day, and eat three large meals - six all in all) with a piece of whole wheat bread. My allocation is two teaspoons so I put one teaspoon on the bread, and then I eat the rest off the spoon. We go through so much peanut butter these days.
Homemade peanut butter by my cousin's boyfriend, and Peter Pan Honey Roast peanut and natural honey spread. Ignore the Crunchy part -- I accidentally grabbed that jar instead of the creamy variant. I try to go as natural as I can these days, but since I can't go to the mall, I have to make do with what I can find at the nearby grocery.
Still on the natural front, the hubby and I picked up some all-natural Messy Bessy products this weekend. We were out of hand wash, and he was running low on shower gel, so we got the Coconut Melon Natural Foaming Hand Wash and the Messy Man Hair+Face+Body Wash. The hand wash smells so nice, as do the shower gel (it's minty and not too manly so I actually use it sometimes when I want something different), but they do have this herbal after-scent that can take some getting used to.
Coming Up
Nothing -- this upcoming week is going to be (thankfully) boring.
Oh and one last thing. I had to include a pic of the me and the hubby smiling in the sunshine this past weekend. After hyperemesis, we're always happy that I am now able to go outside, even if it's just to the neighborhood mall/park down the street. :)

That's about it for now. Thanks for reading!
