Beauty Loot: Bringing Back Summer

It's July, and we've had a bit of rain here and there, which means that the rainy season is just around the corner. We haven't seen a single storm though (thank goodness), and I'm actually still in denial that summer is pretty much over. In fact, I'm so in denial that I'm actually using a couple of very summery products right now. I found them recently, and I adore them so much I use them everyday.

Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow Chubby Lip Balm in Orange - When I saw this in Watson's it stopped me in my tracks. I love the Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm line, and I was thrilled to find a lip pencil version! It's a total chubby stick and it promised 12-hour moisture, color tint, and a candy fragrance. It had me at "wow" and "orange" -- seriously. Well, it definitely delivers. My lips are softer and smoother. It also has more color than the previous Baby Lips I've tried, which were very sheer. Plus, this lip balm is so yummy! It does smell and taste like orange candy. (Pinoys, it tastes a lot like Orange Swits!)

Essence Beach Cruisers Blush in Summer Break - What can be more summery than something that looks like a rosy beach sunset? It has been quite a while since I've obsessed about a blush, but this Essence blush is too pretty for words. It has me wanting the entire Beach Cruisers line! It's a multi-color mini powder blush compact, meaning it's ombre! It starts from a deep pink to a low-key orange. It lasts all day too and is pretty much fool-proof to apply. I love it!

I've been using these the past couple of days and I must say, they're wonderful, and they're drugstore products! The photo below was taken near the end of the day when I got home from work. I had to retouch with the lip balm throughout the day, but you can see how awesome and pigmented the color is. I didn't touch up the blush at all, and it looks just a tad faint. I used the lightest orange shade this morning, and it's definitely still there.

These two things will be living in my bag indefinitely. I feel like I'm totally prepared for the rainy season. I'll simply pull these out when the rain bums me out and I'll instantly feel like summer again.

p.s. I've also been burning this lately -- the Bath and Body Works Candle in Pink Sangria. It makes a room smell like summer!

What makes you feel like summer? Tell me, I'd love to know!
