I chose an orange shade of course! If you know me or you've been following this blog, you'd know that orange and blue are my favorite colors. I also knew that I would be spending the weekend swimming, and that orange would be really pretty against the blue color of pool water.
I did my nails a few days before and did a late-night rush job of it on Thursday because I had an event to go to on Friday. I picked out Y'All Come Back Ya Hear by OPI from the many orange lacquers in my collection because I knew it would apply easily and I'm not likely to make a mess with it. Despite being manicure-challenged, I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to nails and I can't stand it when manicured digits look uneven or simply don't look as neat as I would like them to. When a polish formula is giving me a hard time, I would take hours just doing my nails over. That's why when I'm in a rush, I pick lacquers that have super smooth, manicure-challenged-proof formulas.
OPI Y'All Come Back Ya Hear is one of the polishes in my collection that I treasure the most because it came from the limited edition Texas collection. I don't think I can find it anymore after my bottle runs out! [Full disclosure: It was sent to me back when I was a fashion and beauty editor of an international women's site.] It has been with me for a long time but it hasn't hardened or gone gooey at all. The formula's still perfect, which is what I love about OPI. The brand has mid-ranged prices, but the lacquer quality is always excellent.
My Thursday rush job meant two thin coats, so my manicure had already started chipping a teensy bit by the time our out-of-town trip last Saturday rolled around. The color still looked amazing though! It's so summer.

What are your favorite nail polish shades for summer?
Love this color on you! I like that OPI nail polishes last a long time. They don't turn gloppy even after you've had them for years!
ReplyDeleteLove the price-quality ratio, and they have really fun colors.
